4010 Axle Repair

I started repairing the leaking axle on the 4010, it took several days with a few hours here and there to get the wheel off the axle, after that it went pretty quickly. The inner bearing is shot and the oil seal that is supposed to be behind it is completely gone. I am sure that oil seal got chewed up by the bearing pieces as it came apart.

More mowing...

I have gotten all the areas marked in green mowed at this point, I did a bit of mowing in the north west corner but there are a lot of trees up there to mow around....

That area may need some tree and brush removal to make it easier to mow.

We have the area marked in green mowed at this point, Tina and I have been chainsawing some of the trees that were to big to brush hog and dumping them in the gully marked by the small red X.

The stub shaft on the pto on the tractor came loose and I was afraid we had a big problem as I couldn't get the pto gears to engage right after I tightened it back down. That is one weakness of this model tractor. Eventually I got it working with a dime and penny as shims....eek.

Work on leased land begins

We leased 41.76 acres across the road from our house, first I had to put in a simple gate, which I did with T-posts, a 16 foot cattle panel, and Wedge-Loc pieces.

Then I mowed about 10 acres of it Saturday and Sunday, it took about 3 hours, not counting the time out to get a new tube put in the left front tire of the tractor which had a bad tube when we bought it.

Room Addition a/c unit

This house had an addition built on, the air handler and furnace a/c unit weren't upgraded to handle the new size, so the room addition was very hard to keep cool. We added this mini split a/c & heat pump unit and capped off the ducts leading to this room to enable the existing system to heat and cool the original house more effectively.
